Methodology

Compliance risk score methodology

The score is calculated at build time from evidence files, not by an LLM. Each factor is pass, fail or n/a, and n/a is removed from the denominator.

Formula

Score = round((factors passed / factors evaluated) × 10). Factors marked n/a are not counted in the denominator. If every factor is n/a, the block is omitted on the leaf page.

The 7 factors

  • Verified official source: The code exists in the official classification file used by this build.
  • International crosswalk: A confirmed mapping exists in an international classification such as ISIC, NACE, CPC or ISCO.
  • Previous edition migration: A verified mapping exists to a prior edition of the same classification.
  • Complete hierarchy: All parent levels are present and resolved in the generated tree.
  • Size or threshold documented: The official source stack documents a size, turnover or threshold rule relevant to the code.
  • Trade or export match: A verified customs or trade mapping exists in the source stack.
  • Legacy crosswalk: A verified mapping exists to an older national system that this classification replaced.

Coverage warning rule

When fewer than four factors are evaluable, the score still renders, but the card shows a warning so the user can see that the evidence base is limited.

Evidence rules

  • Evidence must come from a build-time source file, not model output.
  • Source URLs must point to a concrete document or table.
  • Pass, fail and n/a are the only allowed statuses.
  • The block never uses review schema or rating schema.
