PSOC Unit group 6126 — Poultry producers

Workers in this unit group plan and carry out the necessary operations to breed, raise and tend poultry other than chicken and ducks for sale or delivery of eggs,meat or feathers on a regular basis to wholesale buyers, marketing organizations or at markets. Their tasks include: a) determining the kinds and amounts of poultry other than chicken and ducks, and their eggs to be produced; b) purchasing and raising chicks; c) purchasing feeds and other supplies; d) renting or investing in farm buildings, equipment and machinery; e) breeding, raising and tending poultry other than chicken and ducks, and collecting eggs; f) slaughtering, dressing and packing poultry other than chicken and ducks for shipment; g) storing and carrying out some basic processing of their produce; h) maintaining farm buildings, machinery and equipment; i) delivering or marketing farm products.
