Practical summary
Section B sits in the PSIC 2019 hierarchy. This section groups the extraction of minerals and other natural deposits. It is distinct from manufacturing because the value comes from removal or winning of material, not transformation. Common examples include Mining of Coal and Lignite, Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Mining of Metal Ores.
Where this code is used
It shows up when a filer needs to describe an extractive activity for PSA statistics, BIR-facing wording or permitting tied to mining and quarrying operations. Typical starting points include Mining of Coal and Lignite, Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Mining of Metal Ores.
How to choose it
Choose this section only when the business wins material directly from the ground or seabed. If the activity changes raw output into another product, compare Section C instead. Compare child divisions such as Mining of Coal and Lignite, Extraction of Crude Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Mining of Metal Ores and keep moving deeper until the wording matches the actual line of business.
